High Society Blues (1930)
("A shameless bid to capitalize on the success of Sunny Side Up" (1929) - Sarah Baker)
haha but this photo is wonderfully corny - the super popular screen duo promoting the film.
I just finished reading Lucky Stars in the sunshine today, it was glorious, the book accurately follows the careers and lives of actors Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell (see side bar and click on picture for review over at Classic Movies), I found it really interesting, Sarah Baker covered so much info that is really hard to find over the web, and often info over the web is false, so yeah if you interested I assure you, you will not be disappointed. Its a pretty balance and informative book and doesn't indulge in sensationalized nonsense (which so many biographies rely on to "keep the reader interested" I guess), sticks to facts, which was brill. But don't you wish they actually got married in really life lol, I was surprised to learn how close they were to actually marrying, but it just wasn't meant to be.
Here's some photos for fun!
p.s Happy Thanksgiving to you people in the States, may you harvest be bountiful.. haha :)

I'm glad you enjoyed the book! It's one of my favorite Hollywood biographies. I think it was wise that they didn't marry, but wow, what a great romance and friendship.
Thanks for the great review of my book. I am so glad you enjoyed it!
hey! didn't expect the author to be coming round here lol. it is a fab book :) can definitely imagine reading it many times! great stuff. thanks for stopping by.
My only problem is my book stays loaned out all the time, and I realllly wanna re-read it. My cheapskate friends need to buy their own copy of it--or cheapskate ME needs to buy copies for them and hand 'em out as Christmas gifts. (I could probably even track down the author and give SIGNED copies!)
