Shorpy

Today I discovered the great shorpy website and their collection of historical photographs (in HD) from the 1850s to 1950s, really who needs a time machine this site is so efficient. Many of the photos are from the library of congress archive site and users of the site submit their personal photos as well. There are loads of photos, thousands in fact, I thought I'll share some on here. The site is named after a teenage (he looks about 10) coal miner called Shorpy Higganbotham who was photographed in 1910 at work in Alabama (below) By Lewis Wickes Hine.
