A couple of awesome performances from Academy Award ceremonies.
Elliott Smith Performing his Oscar nominated song Miss Misery (For Good Will Hunting) at the 70th Academy Awards in 1998. (Titanic's My Heart will go on won of course)
"That's exactly what it was, surreal... I enjoy performing almost as much as I enjoy making up songs in the first place. But the Oscars was a very strange show, where the set was only one song cut down to less than two minutes, and the audience was a lot of people who didn't come to hear me play. I wouldn't want to live in that world, but it was fun to walk around on the moon for a day." - Elliott Smith on the surreal experience.
Celeste Holm at the 25th academy awards singing the oscar nominated song Thumbelina from the movie Hans Christian Anderson (accompanied with a Thumbelina puppet of course). This was the first televised ceremony, and was hosted by Bob Hope in Hollywood, Fredric March in New York and Conrad Nagel as MC. The Greatest show on Earth won for best picture, many were hoping for High Noon. Heres a bit of Oscar trivia, The Greatest Show is regarded as one of the worst movies ever to be Oscared with the best picture award, next to The English Patient undoubtedly lol.
(There's also a victrola commercial in the end of the video.)
